Is it possible to straighten teeth without braces? Yes! You can achieve a beautifully aligned smile with Invisalign! Many people prefer the convenience and ease of using Invisalign clear aligners to straighten their teeth. At Redmond Smiles, we offer Invisalign at our Everett, Washington dental clinic. Dr. Colby Eckland answers your questions about Invisalign here so you’ll know what to expect from this treatment.
Invisalign is a clear aligner orthodontic system that can straighten teeth instead of conventional braces. Dr. Eckland will use Invisalign 3D computer imaging technology to plan the movements of your teeth to achieve your smile goals. This same technology is used to customize a series of aligners. You’ll wear the aligners 20–22 hours daily, switching to a new set every few weeks. Like conventional braces, the aligners slowly and gently shift crooked teeth into a straighter position until your smile goals are achieved.
You can’t hide traditional braces on your teeth as the metal brackets and wires stand out whenever you open your mouth. In contrast, Invisalign’s clear, plastic aligners can barely be seen, making your treatment highly discreet.
Unlike traditional braces, which are permanently attached to teeth, Invisalign aligners are removable. They won’t interfere with eating, oral hygiene, or other daily activities.
Invisalign orthodontics offers greater comfort, convenience, and ease. The aligners don’t require adjustments so that you won’t need frequent dental visits. Dr. Eckland can see you every four to six weeks to monitor your progress until your treatment is complete.
Invisalign also allows you to view your final results virtually so you’ll know what to expect from your treatment.
Yes! Invisalign can correct underbites, overbites, cross-bites, and open-bites to perfect your smile. The aligners also work well in straightening crooked teeth, closing spaces between teeth, and fixing problems with overcrowding. An initial consultation with Dr. Eckland will determine if Invisalign is your best choice for improving your smile.
Caring for your aligners will ensure they function properly for your treatment. To clean the aligners, gently brush them with mild liquid soap and rinse them in warm water when they’re removed for meals. This keeps the aligners free of plaque, bacteria, and debris. When removed, store your aligners in a safe place to avoid loss or damage, as this can delay your treatment.
Yes. Dr. Eckland will provide a retainer to wear at night to keep your teeth in their new, straightened position. This helps you maintain your newly-aligned smile for life!
